# Glossary · Affiliate Academy

Terms from Affiliate Academy and the app-growth playbook in one list. Each one has a short explanation, an example, and a link to the material that covers it.

### Analytics event — A record of a specific user action

The app sends an event when a user opens a screen, taps a button, or completes an action.

- Example: registration_started and registration_completed reveal how many people abandon registration.
- Section: App growth
- Where it appears: [Find the biggest funnel drop-off](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/apps/practices/quality-funnel/)

### ANR — An Android app freeze

- Section: App growth
- Where it appears: [Prioritize bugs by user impact](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/apps/practices/quality-bugs/)

### ASO — Improving an app's store page

Work on the title, description, screenshots, rating, and queries so the app is easier to find and more convincing to install.

- Example: Rewrite the first screenshot captions so the value is clear without reading the full description.
- Section: App growth
- Where it appears: [Make your app-store page clear and convincing](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/apps/practices/discoverability-store/)

### Bot token — The bot's key

The string @BotFather gives you, which grants full control of the bot. Treat it as a password: whoever has it runs the bot.

- Example: The token is pasted once, into the Telegram connection inside Make.
- Section: Affiliate Academy
- Where it appears: [Telegram event notifications](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/affiliate/lessons/telegram-notifications/)

- Section: App growth

### S2S — Server-to-server

- Section: Affiliate Academy
- Where it appears: [Postbacks and the URL builder](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/affiliate/lessons/postback-setup/)

- Where it appears: [Build a keyword map from real demand](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/apps/practices/discoverability-keywords/)

- Section: App growth
- Where it appears: [Create SEO pages around user tasks](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/apps/practices/discoverability-seo/)

### Sub ID — Technical postback parameter

A tracking parameter used in postbacks and reports. Do not add it to a link manually: create separate dashboard campaigns to compare sources and creatives.

- Example: Create separate campaigns for a TikTok video and a Telegram placement instead of changing link parameters manually.
- Section: Affiliate Academy
- Where it appears: [Beginner mistakes](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/affiliate/lessons/mistakes-to-avoid/)

### Traffic source — The channel people come from

A platform or acquisition method such as Telegram, TikTok, YouTube, advertising, or live streaming.

An address that waits for an incoming request and starts a scenario. In Make it comes from the Custom webhook module.

- Example: The postback reached the webhook address, so the scenario started.
- Section: Affiliate Academy
- Where it appears: [Telegram event notifications](https://playbook.affpartners.io/en/affiliate/lessons/telegram-notifications/)
